Why Trail Runaways?

  • It’s our mission throughout everything we do across the business to use local providers. From creating the brand logo, to putting up our runners for the night, we will only use other local businesses to help us bring our amazing trail running experiences to you.

  • A big part of our camps will be educating runners on the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Whilst there might be a ‘right to roam’ - respect for the outdoors should be at the heart of these adventures. We’ll learn about choosing the best routes, sticking to the paths and understand our responsibilities as people that want to run in these places.

  • As trail runners, in the outdoor world, we need to show that we understand how to be safe, and it is our duty as people with potential influence to help others understand the risks associated with running on trails in these places. Whilst we never go outside our comfort zone, it’s important others understand this, and don’t see our adventures as reckless.

  • it’s our culture, our memorable moments and something that every single client gets.

  • Everything you see here is created by us. From the design of this website, to the photography and film you see throughout. It means a lot to us that you have an authentic experience and that we only use marketing powered from our own adventures.

“There’s no where like the Scottish Highlands. I’ve traveled the world. Run down 3000m peaks in the Alps but still the allure of Scotland’s mountains draws me back in every time”

– Brian, Trail Runaways Guide

 FAQs

  • This is for everyone!

  • Sure! Brian is part of the Discover Glencoe Committee. So knows all the local providers in the area - there’s a lot of amazing places to stay!

  • None of our meets, guided runs or any run are about competition.

Although we’ll discuss things like efficiency and how to build a better running engine, we will always run together. Our little community of trail runners will be an inclusive one, and everyone will feel welcome.

In situations where there are a large group of runners, there will always be a guide at the front, and back of the group.

  • Visit www.wild-scotland.co.uk for more information on our commitment to sustainable tourism in Scotland.

Making travel decisions centred around staying in one place for longer is a good place to start. Using public transport, like trains, etc.

  • Truth is, we might not know yet. This means we would take you on as an everyday athlete, develop your fitness and progress you to the mountain training.

Your coaching will be about building confidence together as well as focussing on the programme to get you in shape.

  • Yes!

We have created our Skyrunner, Mountain, Trail & fell coaching programme because we’re mountain athletes at heart.

That doesn’t mean we can’t help you with your running fitness on the roads. Brian spend more than 50% of his running week on the tarmac, and will be asking all athletes to introduce more road running into their plan.
